Two Killed In Albany County Plane Crash Were From Oregon

The man and woman who died in a private plane crash Sunday in a remote portion of Albany County were both headed to Rock Springs from Fort Collins, Colorado, authorities report.  

Lawrence Allen Crosby was the male pilot and Frances Li was the passenger, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Tuesday afternoon update. The aircraft was a white 182 Cessna. 

The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond Wednesday to a request for the decedents’ ages.  

The plane left Fort Collins on its way to Rock Springs the day of the crash.  

Denver International Airport contacted the Albany County Sheriff’s Office at about 11:45 a.m., saying it had lost contact with the plane.  

The sheriff’s office, its Search and Rescue outfit, the Laramie Fire Department and Classic Air Medical all responded to the Dutton Creek Road area.  

They found the plane crashed, with the man and woman dead inside it, says the statement.  

“Our condolences go out to the families involved,” the sheriff’s office said.  

Federal flight authorities have taken over the investigation.
