Dear editor:

The letter to the editor regarding the disbanding of school "gun free zones" and senate bill S.2070

The "Gun Free School Zone Act" was passed in 1990.

Since 1990 there have been over 800 incidents resulting in 1,069 injuries and 519 fatalities according to School Board Ballotpedia.

Signs and rules at schools do not stop shootings. Never have, never will.

This was a "feel good" piece of legislation that only created a false sense of safety and limited personal liberties and personal protection.

Bad people still do bad things.
