It’s Wednesday, March 8 –  Parts of the state could see some fog and freezing rain this morning. Snow is moving into the area later today, but without any strong winds to accompany the moisture. However, be aware that a more potent storm is expected later in the week!

Central:

Snow showers are likely in Lander later today (less than half an inch possible), otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 22. Scattered snow showers are expected this afternoon in Casper, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 35; total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. There’s a 40 percent chance of snow today in Glenrock, with a high near 33; breezy, with winds 15 to 20 mph.

There’s a 60% chance of snow tonight in Lander, with a low around 5; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Snow showers are likely in Casper overnight (less than an inch possible), with a low around 22; breezy, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Snow is likely in Glenrock tonight (less than an inch expected), with a low around 21; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. 

Southwest:

Green River can expect scattered snow showers this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 28; total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected this afternoon in Evanston, with a high near 27 and wind chill values as low as -5. Snow is likely in Lyman this afternoon (less than half an inch possible), otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 25 and wind chill values as low as -2. 

Scattered snow showers are expected tonight in Green River (around an inch possible), with a low around 7 and wind chill values as low as -5; winds gusting as high as 20 mph will create patchy blowing snow conditions. Evanston could see up to 3 inches of new snow tonight, with a low around 7 and wind chill values as low as -7; winds increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the evening. 1 to 2 inches of snow is likely tonight in Lyman, with a low around 9 and wind chill values as low as -8; breezy, with gusts as high as 32 mph. 

Western Wyoming:

Star Valley can expect 1 to 2 inches of snow today, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as -5. Scattered snow showers are expected in Pinedale this morning, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 21 and wind chill values as low as zero; new snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Big Piney can expect scattered snow showers this afternoon (less than half an inch possible), otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 20 and wind chill values as low as -15. 

Snow showers are likely in Star Valley tonight, with a low around 8 and wind chill values as low as zero; new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Northwest:

Cody can expect scattered snow showers this afternoon, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 31; total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Scattered snow showers are expected in Powell this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 34. Greybull could see some isolated snow showers this afternoon, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. 

Scattered snow showers are expected tonight in Cody (less than half an inch possible), with a low around 11 and wind chill values as low as -5. Powell could see some scattered snow showers tonight, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a low around 14 and wind chill values as low as zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Scattered snow showers are expected overnight in Greybull (less than half an inch possible), with a low around 14. 

North Central:

Sheridan can expect some patchy fog this morning, with a 20 percent chance of snow this afternoon, and a high near 31, with wind chill values as low as zero. Some fog is expected in Dayton this morning, with less than half an inch of snow possible later in the day; otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as zero. Story could see some patchy fog this morning and a 20 percent chance of snow this afternoon, with a high near 31 and wind chill values as low as -5. 

An inch of snow is possible overnight in Sheridan, with a low around 14. Dayton and Story can each expect about an inch of new snow overnight, with a low around 13. 

Northeast:

Gillette can expect areas of fog this morning, then a 50 percent chance of snow later in the day, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as 7. Sundance could see areas of fog this morning, then snow in the afternoon, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as 3; total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Foggy this morning in Upton, with a 40 percent chance of snow later in the day and a high near 30, with wind chill values as low as 11. 

2 to 4 inches of snow is expected overnight in Gillette, with a steady temperature around 25 and wind chill values as low as 8; breezy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Sundance could see 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight, with a low around 11 and wind chill values as low as 4; breezy, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Upton can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight, with a low around 19 and wind chill values as low as 7; breezy, with gusts as high as 39 mph. 

Eastern Plains:

Lusk could see some freezing rain and fog this morning, then a chance of snow, with a high near 29; breezy, with winds 15 to 20 mph. Freezing rain and fog are possible in Torrington this morning, with a slight chance of snow later in the day; otherwise, cloudy and breezy, with a high near 35, and winds gusting as high as 30 mph. Wright can expect areas of fog this morning, but snow is likely this afternoon (less than half an inch possible), with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as 5; breezy, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

There’s a 30 percent chance of snow this afternoon in Laramie, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 34 and wind gusts as high as 30 mph. Medicine Bow has a 30 percent chance of snow this afternoon, otherwise mostly cloudy and breezy, with a high near 32.

South Central:

There’s a slight chance of snow and freezing rain this morning in Rawlins, and a slight chance of snow in the afternoon; otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 33. Partly sunny in Baggs today, with a high near 37. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow this afternoon in Encampment, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 35. 

Rawlins has a 40 percent chance of snow overnight, with a low around 16. There’s a 50 percent chance of snow tonight in Baggs, with a low around 11. Snow is likely in Encampment tonight, with a low around 17; new snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
